Gerbera Daisies

They're pretty. I don't like the orange ones--too fiery: they burn my corneas--but a combination of red, yellow, and pink will be FABULOUS. Joyful, happy, bright, fun...just the way we'll both want it.

NOTE:

***The groom came to the preceding conclusion on his own. He did not simply say "yes dear" to the bride's choice in floral wedding decoration. He voiced his opinion when she brought home Gerbera daisies of various colors, and eliminated the orange ones of his own volition.

***The groom can talk about how pretty flowers are without being even remotely uncomfortable or at all challenged with regards to his manhood. So there.

The bride wishes to note that we have not NECESSARILY chosen Gerbera Daises as our flowers yet. I adore them, and when we discussed potential coloers for the wedding they sprung to mind, so I would like to lean heavily in that direction, but we haven't even begun to think about a florist yet, and it seems like we should do that before finalizing all the floral arrangements.

Well DUH!!! And we may be able to get our hair done by a special guest star as well. She was somewhat open to the idea when I was down there labor day weekend, and she'll get at least three 'dos out of the deal (you, me and mom agreed to take one for the team).

Orange, IMHO, is vile. Purple is much better. :-)

Lemming,

Purple is the favorite color of both bride and groom. However, in church, purple is a color of anticipation or longing (as in Lent and Advent). It just don't fit.

TRP -
No anticipation or longing associated with weddings?

Bear in mind that some Epis. churches use blue during Advent and Lent.

I guess I just want the wedding to look different from Ash Wednesday or Good Friday! Hence, no purple. It's THAT kind of longing I want to avoid.
